Regioselective Synthesis of 1-Alkyl-1-phenylhydrazines, 2-Alkyl-1-phenylhydrazines, and 1,2-Dialkyl-1-phenylhydrazines

1,2- and 1,1-Disubstituted and 1,1,2-trisubstituted hydrazines are obtained by reaction of (2-phenylhydrazino)triphenylphosphonium bromide with buthyllithium, followed by addition of alkyl halides and alkaline hydrolysis.
