摘要
This chapter will unlock a different type of fantasy dating via the Chinese virtual romance mobile game Love and Producer and its popularity and transculturation to South Korea. Released at the end of 2017 in China, it represents a unique model of East Asian transmediality and expands the canon of "workplace literature" (zhichang xiaoshuo) in China or "office romance" in Korea. We believe there is a threefold meaning that we deduce from this game's transmediality: first, the mobile game shows a convergence with print material and paraphilia; second, it is also a unique form of Asian translocality, moving from China to Korea rather seamlessly, where its derivation was refined into its present form; and third, on a gender studies level, its Asianized transmediality speaks to its fictional dating potential (beyond its gaming world) and subversive neoliberal characteristics (to provide a choice in gaming content in the RPG genre).
