The rheological properties tuned epoxy vitrimers are prepared by chemical formulation control and engineering for extrusion-based 4D printing applications, as described in the article number 2101497 by Ki Bong Lee, Yong Seok Kim, Sungmin Park, and co-workers. The printed objects using controlled vitrimers exhibit thermo-responsive shape memory behavior from the elasticity of the intrinsic cross-linked architecture in polymer chains, while the transesterification-based exchange reaction offers reprocessability, recyclability, and weldable properties.
