摘要
Response surface methodology (RSM) approach was used for modelling and analysing the mechanical properties dependent variables of heat-treated Cu-10 %Ni alloy prepared via the mechanical alloying technique. The produced alloy was heat treated and controlled with two heat treatment process parameters viz ageing temperature and holding time. The heat treatment controlled process parameters produce good mechanical properties including ultimate tensile strength, percentage elongation, hardness, and impact strength. As the primary objective, a predictive model from the RSM technique has been designed as a key goal to ensure the confidence of experimental mechanical properties results. The developed model and its predicted data aligned well with the experimental data, indicating the optimal model superior performance. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to assess the effects of independent parameters on the responses and found significant for the ultimate tensile strength, percentage elongation, and hardness haven shown a correlation coefficient P-value of <0.05 and non-significant to impact strength with P-value >0.05. The ultimate tensile strength, percentage elongation and hardness increased with increasing ageing temperature and holding time, while impact strength decreased with increasing process parameters. The research outcomes have ascertained that predictive model and response optimization of RSM will provide useful information based on a wide range of experimental databases.
