Correlation between dorsalis pedis and radial arterial invasive blood pressure during induction of general anaesthesia: a prospective, observational study

Editor—Understanding the relationship between invasive measurement of dorsalis pedis arterial (DPA) blood pressure and the commonly used radial arterial blood pressure can help anaesthesiologists make correct clinical decisions. In neurosurgery, the upper limbs are usually wrapped such that the radial artery (RA) is not easily accessible, which may increase the difficulty of intraoperative management. The DPA is a good alternative to the RA for monitoring in such cases.1
