摘要
The optical and electrical features of star-shaped molecules make them interesting candidates for organic semiconducting materials and organic solar cell applications. Furthermore, their value as dendrimer building blocks and application in supramolecular host-guest chemistry has gotten a lot of interest in recent decades. The synthetic techniques that have been developed for the synthesis of star-shaped molecules with a central core of 1,3,5-triazine and different heterocyclic moieties as side arms are extensively studied. To create such highly functionalized compounds, simple building blocks are often synthesized using trimerization reactions with commercially available starting materials. The star-shaped molecules discussed in this review are classified according to the reactions that led to their production as well as the type of side arms.
