Effects of MSF errors on performance of freeform optics: Comparison of diamond turning and diamond milling

We examine effects of characteristic MSF errors from diamond turning and diamond milling of freeform optical surfaces. Wave-based optical models are used to study optical performance trends relative to machining parameters and MSF errors.
