In a wider study of iodine vapor transport of the layered transition metal dichalcogenides TX2, we have been led to investigate the NbSe2 transport kinetics in order to obtain the best conditions leading to high-quality single crystals. We have particularly studied the influence of transport time, cell diameter and iodine starting concentration on the NbSe2 single crystal growth rate. Experimental results are compared to those obtained by Paorici and to the thermal convection theorical study according to Klosse and Ullersma's model.
