Amana wanyuensis is a recently discovered species from the Dabieshan Mountains, Anhui Province, China. It is like A. edulis in terms of leaves (2), bracts (2–3), flowers (1–5), and yellow anthers and round (versus oblique) stigmas, but differs most notably from A. edulis in its ovoid bulb with a glabrous interior, green leaves with white veins, bracts 3.0–5.0 cm below the flower and tepals with white streaks. Additionally, this new species forms an independent clade in the phylogenetic tree.
