摘要
An active healthy workforce is a key determinant to sustainable economic and human development. As part of this ensemble, the aging workforce offers years of experience and wisdom to their workplaces, providing critical mentorship to younger workers or newly assigned employees. Among the most relevant chronic diseases hitting the aged person, visual ability is reducing at a rate of about 3% every year, threatening productivity and limiting the tasks they may be assigned. See Far smart glasses aim to develop a human-machine system that aids visually-impaired people, helping them to remain actively involved in professional life, sustain and renew their work and personal life-related skills, and support independent, active, healthy lifestyles. See Far glasses can enhance the user's vision by projecting an enhanced image of what the user sees within his/her field of view, counteracting several visual impairments that the user may experience and greatly improving his/her work performance. Such enhancements include image contrast and/or brightness modification, text and image magnification and more. The system is comprised of a pair of low-profile Augmented Reality (AR) lenses, a number of different sensors and Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms, and a powerful processing unit that drives the lenses, processes sensor data and runs AI algorithms.
