Abstract In this paper, to develop a stable and efficient micro-frozen cold storage agent to ensure the freshness of food during transportation, the organic sorbitol aqueous solution was used as the main energy storage agent, and the thermal properties of the multiple compound solution were investigated after adding potassium sorbate, glycine, and highly absorbent resin. The experimental results proved that the total mass fraction of not more than 0.1% of potassium sorbate solution as a preservative could prolong the service life of the storage agent, supplemented by low molecular glycine and highly absorbent resin with more stable thermal properties. The specific formulation of the final developed storage agent is as follows: mass fraction of 5% sorbitol + 0.1% potassium sorbate + 1.75% SAP + 1% glycine + pure water. The new organic phase change accumulator with the latent heat of phase change of 286.5J/g and onset temperature of -4.3°C can be measured. After the thermal performance cycle test, it is found that the accumulator has no obvious delamination, subcooling, and phase separation phenomenon, with stable thermal properties. It can be used repeatedly for a long time, which has certain application development prospects in cold chain transportation and low-temperature logistics.
