摘要
Compared with lithium-ion batteries, magnesium ion batteries can theoretically provide more electrons, have a larger theoretical specific capacity, and are abundant in magnesium compared to increasingly scarce lithium resources, which can effectively reduce the production cost of batteries. Therefore, the research of cathode material for magnesium ion battery has important scientific significance and practical value. However, there are still some problems hindering the commercial development of magnesium ion batteries. Due to the high charge density, strong polarization effect and slow diffusion kinetics of Mg2+, it is still a great challenge to develop positive electrode materials that meet current commercial requirements. This paper mainly reviews the development status and future development trend of magnesium ion battery in recent years, as well as the working principle and characteristics of magnesium ion battery, and puts forward the related application of magnesium ion material in anode and cathode of battery. Compared with lithium ion battery, magnesium ion material has obvious performance advantages, which is an important topic for the development of electrode material in the future.
