Prenylated C6-C3 compounds from Illicium tashiroi

Three new cyclic prenylated C6-C3 compounds, illicinone E, 13-O-methylillicinone E, and 13-O-methyl-2,3-dihydroillicinone E, have been isolated from the wood of Illicium tashiroi, and their structures elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic and chemical data. The absolute configuration of illicinone E was assigned as (4S), (5R) and (12R) by application of the CD exciton chirality rule for allylic benzoate.
