Introduction to electrochemistry

If you happened to take down a copy of the Oxford English Dictionary, you would learn, although you would not be greatly illuminated by the fact, that electrochemistry is 'the science of the application of electricity to chemistry'. One of the earliest references in 1829 in a journal called Natural Philosophy offered 'Electro-Chemistry, one of the connecting branches between remote divisions of the Philosophy of Nature'. (Ho hum!)
