摘要
HF-laser radiation is absorbed in-depth by glass and can therefore be used to achieve a radiation-controlled bulk heating of glass. The measured spectral absorption coefficients show that several millimeters of glass are radiation-heated. However, during the different attempts of welding and cutting of ordinary and Pyrex glasses, the thin melted glass slab cools very fast and the glass often breaks due to the resulting high tensile stresses.
