Determination of Myricetin in Baeckea frutescens L. by HPLC

Objective To develop a method for determination of myricetin content in natural herb of Baeckea frutescens L.and provide a reliable technique for the establishment of the quality standard of Baeckea frutescens L..Methods An HPLC method was set up to determine the content of myricetin in Baeckea frutescens L.Diamonsil C18(4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) column was adopted as the solid phase,and acetonitrile-methanol-water-phosphoric acid(17.5:17.5:65:1.3) was used as the mobile phase,the UV detection wavelength was 360 nm with a flow rate of 1.0ml/min at room temperature.Results A good linear relationship was obtained within the range of 0.204 ～1.224 g and the average recovery was 97.12%,RSD =1.50%(n=6).Conclusion The method is simple,reproducible and can be used for the determination of myricetin in Baeckea frutescens L.
