摘要
Electric vehicles are becoming more common as its carbon footprint is considerably lower than vehicles using petroleum fuel. In such cases, battery operated vehicles have an advantage, but it comes at the cost of time taken to recharge the batteries. A review of various charge control techniques of the batteries that used for powering up electric vehicles such as Constant Current-Constant Voltage (CC-CV) charging, Multistage Constant Current charging, Multistage Constant Current-Constant Voltage charging, Adaptive Current charging, Pulse charging, Negative Pulse charging is presented. The effective implementation of these control methods in terms of the charging time, charging efficiency, fluctuations in the temperature during the charging, keeping battery SoC within safe limits are critically reviewed.
