摘要
An association between iron deposition in the brain and neurodegeneration has been shown in many diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and Huntington's disease. However, the role of iron in the neurodegenerative process remains unclear. 1 Ward RJ Zucca FA Duyn JH Crichton RR Zecca L The role of iron in brain ageing and neurodegenerative disorders. Furthermore, studies in cell and animal models of Parkinson's disease, and histopathological and neuroimaging studies in people with Parkinson's disease, support the hypothesis of iron dysregulation. 2 Duce JA Wong BX Durham H Devedjian JC Smith DP Devos D Post translational changes to α-synuclein control iron and dopamine trafficking; a concept for neuron vulnerability in Parkinson's disease.
