Cover Feature: A Synthetic Approach for Oxadiazole‐Decorated Azobenzene Photoswitches (ChemPlusChem 2/2024)

Graphical Abstract The cover feature image illustrates novel oxadiazole-decorated azobenzenes that were synthesized and shown to perform as robust molecular photoswitches under light irradiation. Although the fluorine-substituted-compound stands out in terms of switching parameters, all compounds were stable to repeated cycles of light irradiation and half-lives of the least stable isomers measured in the hours to days range.
