摘要
SiC aerogels are excellent porous materials with extensive application prospects. However, their ultra-low density and extremely low strength make them challenging to process. Near-net-shape fabrication is crucial to overcome the manufacturing difficulties of SiC aerogels with complex-shaped. In this work, we propose a novel method for preparing near-net-shape SiC aerogels through the in-situ carbonisation of Si, enabling the fabrication of aerogels with complex geometries. The as-prepared SiC aerogels consist of SiC nanowires (SiCnw) and SiC nanoparticles (SiCnp), which have ultra-low density, excellent thermal insulation, and robust high-temperature stability.
