摘要
A simple calcium cation solvated with o-C6H4F2 molecules is an efficient catalyst of olefin hydrosilylation. In contrast to currently established mechanisms of the reaction, it is the olefin, not silane, that is activated by coordination to Lewis-acidic Ca2+, thereby facilitating the attack of hydridic Hδ−Si on the C=C bond.
