摘要
Previous researches mainly focus on the role of B cell-mediated humoral immunity to Bordetella pertussis infection, while, there is a growing evidence that CD4+ T cell-mediated cellular immunity is necessary for clearance of B. pertussis infection.Many subsets of CD4+ T cells have been described, T helper lymphocyte(Th)1, Th2 and Th17, which differ in their cytokine production profiles.Several experiments indicated that Th1 and Th17 cells were necessary for completely B. pertussis clearance.While, both animal and human studies have been showed that natural infection and whole cell pertussis (wP) vaccines promote Th1/Th17 responses, whereas acellular pertussis (aP) vaccines induce Th2/Th17 responses.The different profiles of immune response induced by wP and aP vaccines, in part, explain the resurgence of pertussis.
