User Interfaces in Astronomy

The user interface is a fundamental component of information systems: the extent to which information system functions are useful is critically measured on how easy they are to use for both novices and experts. However, it is usually very difficult to define in a clear way what a "good" user interface really is, because this definition is often a matter of personal taste; therefore, the ideal interface should be able to change in aspect and response, in order to cope with rapidly changing user needs.
