A New and Efficient Method for Oxidation of Various Alcohols by UsingN-tert-Butyl Phenylsulfinimidoyl Chloride

Abstract Various primary and secondary alcohols were smoothly oxidized to afford the corresponding aldehydes and ketones in excellent yields by using N-tert-butyl phenylsulfinimidoyl chloride (1) in the presence of DBU (1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene). The oxidation of alcohols was carried out in a simple manner by using the isolable oxidizing agent 1 under basic conditions.
