摘要
In this paper we address the effects of a non-uniform flow field on the performance characteristics of a single rotation propeller. After the recent installation of a new propeller test rig, a first test campaign was launched to check its capabilities and characteristics. For this purpose experiments with a highly loaded propeller positioned in front of a wing were performed in a low speed windtunnel. To enable the determination of propeller forces and moments a so-called Rotating Shaft Balance (RSB) was used in combination with an air motor that drives a 4-8 bladed propeller. Furthermore the experimental data set was compared with a Blade Element Model that was adapted to incorporate non-uniform inflow effects. Validation of the propeller characteristics was performed over a wide range of advance ratios and propeller effective inflow angles.
