PURPOSE:To observe the state of fibroblasts which were seeded on the fibrin glue.METHODS:Adult rabbit skin fibroblasts were isolated, cultured and identified in vitro.Cellular morphologies of fibroblasts which were seeded on the fibrin glue were observed under invert microscope and optical microscope, and the cells were identified by vimentin immunostaining analysis. The data were analyzed using SPSS 12.0software package.RESULTS:Rabbit fibroblasts had good expanding form and proliferated soon on the fibrin glue. The cells grew adherently on the fibrin glue in about 2 to 4 hours,at the 3rd day most of the cells converged into pieces, presenting whirlpool shape. After 5 days, duplicate layers cells gradually formed. The cells were positively stained for vimentin and negative for cytokeratin. The difference was significant(P0.05) .CONCLUSIONS:Rabbit fibroblasts could grow and proliferate on the fibrin glue well.Fibrin glue may be a suitable material as a scaffold compounded with fibroblasts.
