摘要
Catalytic oxidation of hydroxymethyl furfural leads to 2,5-furandicarboxylic acid. The reaction is carried out in a strongly alkaline aqueous medium and in the presence of oxygen and a platinum/lead catalyst deposited on carbon. The reaction is quantitative in less than 2 h and the purity of the diacid obtained is > 99%. A careful study of the main parameters has permitted us to explain the behavior of hydroxymethylfurfural under the reaction conditions and a reaction mechanism is proposed.
