摘要
Wound dressings are the most applicable products to promote and accelerate the complicated wound healing process. Electrospinning has been widely employed in fabricating nanofibrous scaffolds owing to its flexibility in adjusting nanofiber diameter, porosity, and designs. Among the prepared electrospun nanofibers, the aligned nanofibers showed promising features for biomedical application, therefore, several methods have been adopted to handle nanofiber aligning in electrospinning to reach preferable nano-design, uniaxial mechanical robustness, and subsequently, cell alignment. This review aims to provide a comprehensive and in-depth view of the effect of fiber alignment on enhanced wound healing. In tandem, we will critically compare different techniques used for aligning nanofibers by electrospinning. Furthermore, applicable points in material selection for wound dressings will be pinpointed. Based on our insight, more technical progress is required in electrospinning setups to address its reproducibility, size flexibility, and scaling up issues for the prosperity in the future of the healthcare industry.
