Curative effect of micro-plasma radiofrequency combined with triamcinolone acetonide in the treatment of hypertrophic scar

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of micro-plasma radiofrequency (MPR) combined with triamcinolone acetonide in the treatment of hypertrophic scar. Methods 41 patients with hyperplastic scar were enrolled. The scars were treated by micro-plasma RF combined with triamcinolone acetonide. A total of 5 treatments were performed. The curative effect was evaluated as markedly effective, improved and uneffective. The histological study was performed on 5 patients before and after all the treatments. Results A total of 41 patients were followed up, 28 cases were markedly effective, 11 cases improved and only 2 patient was uneffctive. The overall effective rate was 95.12%. Significant reduction in the thickness and texture of the scar were achieved, and no side effect was observed. Histological studies showed, after all the treatments, that the number of fibroblasts were reduced and collagen fibers arranged more orderly and loosy. Conclusions MPR combined with triamcinolone acetonide is a safe and highly effective treatment for hypertrophic scar.
