The development of energy storage devices can be significantly improved by modelling and simulation approaches. For the rapidly emerging sodium-ion battery technology and its electrolytes there is yet no standard. In article number 1703036 Patrik Johansson and co-workers review the efforts made from a modeling and simulation perspective in order to assist both the fundamental understanding as well as the development of higher performance sodium-ion battery (SIB) electrolytes.
