In Chap. 2 , we covered the basics of the CKKS FHE scheme and its operations to develop an intuition about the data intensiveness of FHE-based computing. Existing state-of-the-art FHE implementations for the CKKS scheme observe one or more orders of magnitude slow down when compared to implementations that operate on unencrypted data. For example, consider the addition/multiplication of a clear text message and a ciphertext message, both consisting of 32, 768 complex numbers.
