The Isolated Bidirectional DC-DC (IBDC) converter is a very popular topology nowadays since it finds its application in various areas such as Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Microgrids, onboard EV chargers, etc. All these are because of its property allowing power flow in both directions. One of the most promising topologies used is Dual Active Bridge. For all these applications, it is necessary to model this converter. Modeling provides the relationship between input signal and output signal as transfer function, making its calculation and analysis easier. This paper deals with modeling a DAB converter with Extended Phase Shifted modulation and Dual Phase Shifted modulation. The Reduced Order method of modelling is used for deriving the transfer function of DAB. The closed loop control is then implemented using derived transfer function. Then using the same converter parameters and k p and k i values, a plant model is designed and the result of both models are verified by MATLAB simulation.
