Macrocyclization of carbon dioxide with 3-triflyloxybenzynes and tetrahydrofuran: straightforward access to 14-membered macrolactones

A novel macrocyclization of carbon dioxide with 3-triflyloxybenzynes and tetrahydrofuran leading to a rare type of 14-membered macrolactone is reported.
