摘要
Photonic crystals–based cascaded microring resonator structure is proposed to improve the performance using the concept of two-dimensional constrained topological edge states. The topological edge state is created when two microring resonators with distinct band topologies meet an interface and are contained inside a slab of dielectric material which results in a sharp increase in quality factor. The suggested results of the proposed structure were accepted for sensing application, as demonstrated here for temperature sensing. The estimated sensitivity, with a very high-quality factor of 2516, is 3.79 nm/°C.
