Elesclomol (ES) as an efficient Cu ionophore can specifically transport Cu into mitochondria and disrupt intracellular Cu homeostasis. Extra intracellular Cu induces cuproptosis and chemodynamic therapy (CDT), which further cascades immunogenic cell death (ICD) and activates antitumor immune responses.
