The Digital 3D Virtual Reconstruction of the Monastic Church, Qubbat al-Hawa

Many of the Coptic monastic sites distributed throughout Egypt are under constant attack from erosion and pollution, both natural and man-made. It is imperative that a program be instigated for these important sites, with their associated unique architectural elements, in order to preserve the Coptic cultural heritage. It is clear that virtual 3D modelling is an invaluable method, not only providing the data and information for developing conservation programs, but also for essential ongoing and future archaeological excavations.
