UK surgeons' guide to management of spinal deformity

At the 24th annual meeting of the British Scoliosis Society (Jersey, Channel Islands; April 26–28), delegates discussed the production of a report on the management of spinal deformity. The society plans to finish consultations with its members and regulatory bodies by September, and to publish the document in October. The report will be circulated to National Health Service (NHS) Trusts, the ten regional health authorities, primary-care groups, health administrators, and the Royal Colleges, and will cover organisation of specialist clinics, investigations, preoperative management (including consent and counselling), surgical procedures, and postoperative care.
