Fish oil supplementation protects skin from yellowness induced by fine particulate matter through anti-inflammatory mechanism: a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial
Evidence of the effects of ambient fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure on skin colour and its potential preventive intervention is scarce. A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 65 healthy college students suggested that short-term PM2.5 exposure may lead to darkening and yellowing of skin tone. The yellowness may be modulated by inflammatory responses and alleviated by fish-oil supplementation.
