Cadmium (Cd), a prevalent environmental contaminant, has attracted widespread attention due to its serious health hazards. Ferroptosis is a form of iron-dependent oxidative cell death that contributes to the development of various kidney diseases. However, the mechanisms underlying the occurrence of ferroptosis in Cd-induced renal tubular epithelial cells (TECs) have not been fully elucidated.
