Epidemiology and etiology of multiple myeloma

Multiple myeloma (MM) , also known as plasmacytoma, is a malignant tumor that originates from plasma cells in the bone marrow. The incidence of MM shows an upward trend year by year, and the epidemiological data of MM are still lacking in our country. There are many related factors of the disease, and the cause is not clear. Compared with morbidity and mortality, the incidence and etiology of MM are more sensitive to changes. Therefore, it is important to explore the incidence of MM and related risk factors. This article reviews the regional, time, age, gender, ethnic distribution and related morbidity factors of MM at home and abroad, so as to provide more comprehensive information for MM related research.
