摘要
Field Signature Method (FSM) is a nonintrusive technology for internal corrosion monitoring, mostly used for (underground) pipelines, high temperature applications in refineries as well as for particular applications in upstream oil and gas production. FSM is also used for other applications, e.g., in the mining industry. A general benefit of FSM is that it monitors a relatively large area for corrosion (between sensors) and can distinguish between uniform and localized corrosion. This chapter describes the FSM technology, with a general description of the equipment and configurations as well as introduction to data interpretation and reporting. Examples from applications on buried pipelines and in refineries are provided with data examples.
