Tourist's Perception of Handicraft Tourism Development: A Study on Channapattana Toy Town in Karnataka

Tourists' perceptions are very often regarded as an essential tool in planning and developing tourism in any tourist destination. The study predicts tourists' perception toward handicrafts in Channapatna toy town. Further, the study explores the important variables indicating good craftsmanship and value for money leading to tourists' perception of handicraft tourism. Data were obtained from 372 respondents employing the convenience sampling technique using the five-point Likert scale. The principal Component with the Varimax rotation method was performed while employing exploratory factor analysis to identify the predictors. Further to validate the predictors, confirmatory factor analysis was also performed in AMOS 21.0. The study reveals that tourist perception is determined by two factors, Good Craftsmanship, and Value for money. Further, it reveals that developed infrastructure is also the main contributing factor that affects tourists' perceptions leading to the fulfillment of the SDGs.
