The impact of government digital attention on enterprise digital transformation: empirical insights from China

The government policy attention tends to play a strong role in guiding and supporting the development of enterprises. This study, utilizing data from 14,674 China A-share listed companies (2008–2021), investigates the influence of government digital attention on enterprise digital transformation and its mechanism. The research results show that the government digital attention can promote enterprise digital transformation. In this process, the development of digital infrastructure and government S&T investment serve as the mechanism channels through which the government digital attention promotes enterprise digital transformation by providing hardware facilities and funds, respectively.
