摘要
This chapter enhances a detailed study on solving multiobjective transportation problem (MOTP) under cost reliability using utility function approach. In a formal sense, transportation problem establishes an optimum network of transportation to consider the minimization for total transportation cost. Considering real phenomenon, it is often observed that the transportation problem involves multiple, conflicting, and noncommensurable objective functions, and is referred to as MOTP. The main focus of this chapter is to describe cost reliability in objective functions of MOTP. Goal programming (GP), revised multichoiceGP (RMCGP), and utility function approach are applied to solve MOTP under cost reliability and to obtain pareto-optimal solution of MOTP. A numerical example is provided to show the applicability and usefulness of the study for solving MOTP. Finally, conclusions and future research directions are presented regarding our study.
