摘要
Archetype metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) can detect molecules from homemade explosives by a preconcentrator concept, as demonstrated by Klaus Müller-Buschbaum and co-workers in article number 1704250. The MOF enriches trace amounts of the analyte molecules, rendering their detection accessible. This is highly beneficial for places such as airports and their security, with MOFs showing 100-times higher enrichment factors than the state-of-the-art material Tenax TA.
