Anodic synthesis and XPS analysis of large BaKPbO single crystals

Large BaKPbO single crystals(greater than or equal to 5 mm on an edge) were synthesized by electrocrystallization from a KOHZnO flux at 260 °C in air. The resulting crystals were analyzed by using XRD and XPS. The XPS results show that the valence of Pb in BaKPbO crystals is predominately in +2, while mixed valent O2− and O1− may exist.
