摘要
Dietary recommendations on total fat and fatty acids in human nutrition arising out of a joint FAO/WHO Expert Consultation are reported. Little evidence is available to prove the effects of total dietary fats on coronary heart diseases or cancers, or that replacing carbohydrates with Mono unsaturated fatty acids(MUFA) increases high density cholesterol concentrations. Evidence shows that linoleic acid (LA) and linolenic acid (ALA) are essential in the diet since they cannot be synthesized in the human body.
