Detection and Reference Interval Determination for Serum Immunoglobulin of 1-8 Years Old Children of Guangzhou

Objective To determine the basal level of serum immunoglobulin of 1 to 8 years old children. Methods 968 children between 1 to 8 years old were included in this study. Levels of serum immunoglobulin were determined by the Beckman-coulter Immage 800 protein analyer and the data were analyzed with statistical methods. Results Variation in the level of serum immunoglobulin was observed in children of differ sex and age. The results were also differed from the national values and the values provided by the manufacturer. Conclusion The values obtained from this group of children are not applicable to other children. Further analysis on the level of serum immunoglobulin from the normal subject from other laboratories is required.
