摘要
Mannich reaction is one of the most important and significant, Carbon–Carbon bond forming methodology in organic synthesis. However, Mannich reaction basically is known as an amino alkylation of an acidic proton, placed next to a carbonyl functional group by formaldehyde, a primary or secondary amine or ammonia in which its product is actually a β-amino-carbonyl compound. This reaction was named after a German chemist Carl Mannich, (1877–1947) who discovered such reaction and disclosed it in 1912. In this chapter, we try to follow and cover, the total synthesis of alkaloids using Mannich reaction.
