Disorders of Hypopigmentation in Children

In children and adolescents, disorders of hypopigmentation are fairly common, especially pityriasis alba, vitiligo, and tinea versicolor. As an aid to the clinician, the distinguishing features of each disorder are outlined and then compared to the two or three most similar entities. The manifestation of two neurocutaneous syndromes, hypomelanosis of Ito and tuberous sclerosis, are also discussed.
